17th of May

Known also as Grunnlovsdagen (Constitution Day) and National Day, Syttende Mai translates literally as the “17th of May.” On this date in 1814, the Norwegian Constitution was signed, marking the end of more than four centuries of Danish rule.

Some Spokane Sons of Norway — Tordenskjold Lodge 02-005 members got together to celebrate Syttende Mai (Norway Constitution Day) with a picnic and games of Kubb!

Sonja Lodge had their own parade around their lodge and other festivities to celebrate Norway’s Constitution day! Syttende Mai!
